Layered Fragments, Becoming Whole

Something Blue

Charming
And
undeniably masculine
In the way you held yourself
Fluid
Strong
Quiet
presence – .

The way you were so
O p e n
lacking in self consciousness…
Although
There were cracks…
Endearing still

Secrets…

The way your eyes spoke
Holding me
Right
There.
Words… hopelessly
Irrelevant.

Your wide grin
I wondered how it could
———R e a c h ———
That far across your
face
solid grip
on
my
imagination…

I fell…
Tripped
Perhaps- lost my composure
With that one shifting movement of
Wing tips…
Je ne sais quoi – stirring
I wasn’t conscious
Yet…

Then you repositioning yourself
Turning to your laptop
As I shift my body toward the door
I look back
Catching the hint of a smile
Lingering…
Sneakers contrasting tan skin
Planted at the base of the chair
My eyes wander up
ankles curving into calf
Thighs fitted in tan pants…
Well…
A rendition of
The tale of Genji.

It felt forbidden…
The pull was to move
Closer
Closer
Closer…
I could…
But I walked away.

In retrospect
clarity came…
Every single time
The warmth
the magnetic

felt
Otherworldly…
And it stayed
held
My heart
stole a piece of my soul…

Now, setting that lonesome
Space
like bloomed cherry blossoms
Caught in the wind
Wandering…
Until
