Layered Fragments, Becoming Whole

A girl in a daydream

Photo by Eugenia Remark on Pexels.com
Her eyes transfixed on
the open balcony door
A linen drape
Muted tan in color dancing in the wind
billowing waves
Leaving sections of crystal prisms against soft black shadows on the wood floor
Salt air
Beckoning
As a hand reaches into forward space
fingers sway in the open air
Like the notes of a flute
As if awakened by movement
One foot moves
aching for light
Naked tips of toes graze
Sun kissed warm square
Sliding the rounded arch
to the heel
completely fitting into paced sunlight
avoiding the taint of promising depth
for fear it will swallow her whole
The rhythmic lull of
Graceful hopscotch
In this corner of the world
A girl in a daydream
