Layered Fragments, Becoming Whole

Copper Moon Reflections

It was humid out tonight
hot breeze breathing down my neck
like the first minutes in a sauna, sweat not yet beading
Zen like, waiting faithfully for the drop, permission to melt --
Into a puddle
I needed movement to get the welling lump out of my throat
Clear my mind
A light stroll around the neighborhood, perfect fit
Well, better than holding that secret indoors
Surrounded by walls
Suffocating
Frantically shaking in a strait jacket
Might as well consider another brand

I hadn’t noticed before,
the sky seemed different tonight,
already deep into 7 pm
mixed media weapon --
backdrop in vaporwave,
Blended blue, lilac sky with a pink moon
Moody pastel dreams on a 90s clean color way
Minimal highway
abstract expressions conjuring Rothko --
A friend once said, ‘Anyone can do this...’
‘Well ma’am did you though?’
People... and places

Twitchy, glitchy techno color
California retro --
Two words that bind depths of impossibility to me
Nuance in shades of grey

Not exactly beautiful,
simply hanging low and full
Luminal Moon – almost copper
My eyes linger,
comforting in its ominous way

I've made a promise to send off the old,
And bring in the new

Inexplicably exhausted from bracing
against luna waves
