Layered Fragments, Becoming Whole

Liquid, Silver

Photo by Jenny Mavimiro on Pexels.com
Red foxes peek from under bushes
curious amber eyes
watch

I dip low to their eye level
And reach my hand out

little silver steps out once more
Tails 9 wide
into the fresh pine air
I smile at her as welcome
and she comes to lay on my lap
settling to sleep
together

In our timeless dream merging
past and present
to become
we cycle through centuries in hours
to wake
cracking the cast clay
ceramic pieces shifting at once --
a wild beast falls to the ground
as deep desire

to swim

shed the dust that clings -- eternal mothballs
the past, the warped time of future
safe now, to be
my own light, my own shadow
a fever scorching through

kitsune
my silver kitsune
