Layered Fragments, Becoming Whole

Raw Umber

Speaking in t o n g u e s
Ive been here before
Though
Not a sky blue
but thick, luxurious diesel fuel
Raw umber
I’ll wade in it
Filling my lungs with the intoxicating h e a d y scent of
Almost
Fire…
Sweet treble l i n g e r i n g like secret promises
I’ll go u n d e r
Hold my breath until I explode up for
Oxygen
Allowing the slick to run down my body
Heaviness gliding-
Feather light
I’ll let it s o a k into my skin
Staying there
Wet…
As the moon glows in soft brilliance
Holding
your retreat like a soft breeze
I’ll wait for the stillness
Before,
my mouth turns up to
Place glistening tongue
On
your
Collarbone
